John Mills started out as a song-and-dance man in 1929 in a London revue.
Straight acting followed and his film debut was in 1932. However his early
chorus work stood him in good stead in the 30s in a couple of early roles.
He soon moved over to drama though and his youthful looks kept him in
leading roles up until the early 50s. Has been in a lot of memorable films
and I can't remember a bad performance even though some of the later roles were
of poor quality.
